1. WASHING FILLED BEDDING PRODUCTS

Professional cleaning is recommended. Here are important instructions that will help maintain the characteristics of your bedding products over the product life span.

WHAT WASHING MACHINE SHOULD BE USED?

For the laundering of your bedding products, the capacity of the washing machine should be at least 7kg/15lbs. An even higher capacity would be recommended. To prevent any damage from the product and the washing machine, and to ensure proper re-fluffing after washing, the washing machine should be filled up with maximum 25% of its total loading-capacity. On top loading washing machines, please always use two products to counterbalance (if you only have one product to wash, balance with a couple of large towels of similar total weight).

WHAT WASHING PROCESS IS REQUIRED?

The main washing should be done at a temperature of 40°C (cold or warm) in a “gentle washing” modus (less motion / much relaxation) for approx. 15-20 minutes. Afterwards rinse 4 times without any detergents, each rinsing cycle with a duration of approximately 5 minutes. The third and fourth cycle should be done with a high water level. After completion of the fourth cycle, spin the product at high rotation speed. In case you accidentally set a higher temperature, the material characteristics of good bedding products ensure that you still retain perfect product characteristics. However, the high temperatures do wear on the product, and you may lose the warranty you enjoy.

WHAT DETERGENTS SHOULD BE USED?

Only mild detergents are to be used and should be kept to a minimum => max. 25g/1oz per kg! After washing, the detergents have to be rinsed out completely, as otherwise the materials might clutter during the drying process.

WHAT TUMBLE DRYER SHOULD BE USED?

For the drying of your bedding products, the capacity of the tumble dryer should be at least 7kg/15lbs. An even higher capacity would be recommended. To prevent any damage from the product and to ensure proper re-fluffing after drying, the tumble dryer should be filled up with maximum 25% of its total loading-capacity.

HOW DO I DRY MY FILLED BEDDING PRODUCTS?

To ensure the best possible results, the drying of all bedding products has to be executed very cautiously, which means that they must NOT be dried at a temperature exceeding 60°C. The drum of the dryer has to oscillate (the direction of rotation has to change randomly) during the drying process. It is important to stick these guidelines, as this way you are guaranteed the best performance of your products over their complete life time. For each 2kg, we recommend to add one tennis ball tot he washing drum (no joke !). Dry the products for approx 20 minutes. Take them out of the dryer and fluff them. Repeat this drying and fluffing at least three times, or until products are dry and nice and beautiful again.

ARE THERE ANY FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON WASHING THE PRODUCTS?

- do not bleach the product - no ironing of filled products - no mangling / hot pressing of filled products - no chemical additives / cleaning of filled products - wash filled products once every few months / at least once per season.

HOW CAN I MACHINE DRY LINENS AND TERRY?

Linens and terry have to be dried at high temperatures, please consult your dryer manufacturer for adequate settings that work both for the products – and the longevity of your dryer ! Pure cotton linens typically need to be ironed after washing, ironing of cotton-poly blend linens is recommended, but not required (see below). Terry should NOT be ironed.

HOW DO I DRY LINENS WITHOUT IRONING?

You do not want to iron your linens? Dry your products at high temperatures. After the first cool down cycle (linens still almost boiling hot, and more than 6% moisture) take products from the dryer and fold them. Note that the products almost still feel wet at this stage. Also, you need to do this right after the cool down cycle is done: if products cool down before folding, they will wrinkle. For larger loads, you need to be staffed adequately to manage before further cooling occurs. Please note that this will only yield good results for cotton-poly blend linens, pure cotton linens need to be ironed for best results. Also, consider bio degradable detergents for best longevity of your products.
